Danny’s 5 thoughts after Indiana 3/10

1) High screen defense continues to be an issue. The bigs didn’t hedge & the guards were held up all day. Credit to IU for terrific execution & hitting big shots early.

2) RU had no answer for Morgan. Quick posts are a bad matchup for this group. With Omoruyi in early foul trouble, Rutgers couldn’t defend him straight up.

3) This felt a bit like the 2nd half of the MSU game, but for 40 minutes. When you can’t get stops, it puts a premium on every possession. The offense doesn’t have the firepower to play that way (except against Illinois’ defense).

4) Love the improvement of Caleb McConnell & Ron Harper Jr. Those 2 freshmen will be key pieces for the future installments of @RutgersMBB to have sustained success.

5) I thought RU would do enough to get a @B1GMBBall bye, but it wasn’t in the cards. Taping @ScarletSpotRU tonight, so will expand on this analysis... but #Rutgers opens up conference tournament play 6:30pm EST Wednesday against Nebraska. Hope the guys can hit the reset button.
