Danny’s 5 thoughts after Iowa 2 3/2

1) The revenge tour was backed up, y'all. Baker & Harper said they were going to get it in Carver-Hawkeye and RU did just that. Cover-to-cover domination, 51 percent from the floor, 11 threes (right around where they needed to be) & 86 total points. Road blowout at a ranked team!

2) The perimeter defense was filthy. Mathis, Baker, Harper, Thiam... it didn't matter who was chasing the Iowa guards. #Rutgers came to play 1-through-5 & used their physicality to dictate the tempo. Did RU hit some crazy stuff? Sure. But, they were under control the whole way.

3) Ron Harper Jr. (career high 27 points) & "Threesa" (Issa) Thiam combined for 40 points? That's just amazing. Geo Baker played distributor (9 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds) as Omoruyi was fighting through pain. Myles Johnson made some huge passes to break the zone as well.

4) Credit to the posts, who had a bit of a rough whistle for a usually contact-oriented @B1GMBBall. Carter fouled out in 10 minutes, but Doorson & Johnson each provided valuable contributions to ensure that Iowa couldn't get easy layups. And, McConnell hit 4 late FTs to seal it.

5) This is a program win. Celebrate in a road locker room, @RutgersMBB... you deserve it. First time w/ multiple ranked wins since "Mike Coburn" week of a decade-plus ago. Ladies & gentlemen, get to the #RAC Wednesday night. Pack the place, Senior Night, what a time to be alive!
